USB-8506/2

The USB-8506 is a Local Interconnect Network (LIN) interface device designed for developing applications with the NI-XNET driver. The USB-8506T is powered via USB, eliminating the need for an external power supply. The USB-8506 is ideal for applications that require logging or manipulating hundreds of LIN frames and signals, such as in-vehicle data logging, bus monitoring, and automation control. The NI-XNET device driver’s DMA engine enables the onboard processor to transfer CAN frames and signals between the interface and the user program without interrupting the CPU, minimizing message latency and freeing the host processor to perform other tasks. The USB-8506 features a three-pin COMBICON synchronization connector for triggering the internal hardware timebase to synchronize other devices.
